2011:Launch of the OPC, DIVO, Dark Terror & The Book of Orange
The first week of 2011 saw the unveiling of the Orange OPC Guitar Amplifier Recording Studio Workstation at CES 2011 (the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas). Both at CES, and a week later at NAMM 2011, the OPC – another first for Orange – attracted massive interest from the media and public.
April 6th on the Orange booth at Frankfurt’s Musikmesse 2011 was the official launch date for
The Book of Orange – Building the Brand Orange – a large-format illustrated ‘flipbook’ tracing the history of Orange amplifiers and development of the Orange brand from its launch in 1968.
Musikmesse 2011 saw the introduction of the latest addition to the Tiny Terror family – the high-gain Dark Terror: a 15 watts switchable to 7 watts compact amp head featuring the Shape control derived and developed from the Thunderverb series.
Orange also introduced the TubeSync DIVO (Dynamic Intelligent Valve Optimisation) OV4. The OV4 is the stand-alone module version of DIVO – ground-breaking technology that helps to increase the life of tubes; protects against tube failure and enables different tube types to be installed in the same amp. DIVO will come pre-installed on select Rockerverb 100 MK II heads in summer 2011.
