A Stranger’s Act Of Random Kindness gives Sean an Orange Amp
![]()
Acts of kindness in today’s fast paced, high pressure society are rare. It is true to say that many people have forgotten how to be kind to strangers simply for the sheer pleasure of helping a fellow human being.

Well not so for Sean Sabo of California (pictured above). He was in Mantoya’s Third Street Music in Eureka, California trying out his guitar with a Rockerverb 100. Sean knew he wanted it because with that Orange amp he could go from a nice gritty clean all the way through to heavy metal on the dirty channel. He was just talking to the salesman about finance… at which point a stranger walks into the store, having heard Sean playing, and buys the rig for him – just like that!
Sean said he couldn’t accept it, but Zan, the stranger, insisted and said “you’re great and all I ask for in return is that you keep playing”. Sean and his buddy jammed for about 20 minutes while Zan recorded them, then he gave them a hug and disappeared.
Other than the fact that Zan told Sean he was from Redwood City, and was in Eureka on a trip, little is known about the person whose act of extreme random kindness has made a big difference to Sean and his music.
Of Zan, Sean says “really nice to know there are people like that in the world, now I have got to pay it forward”.
Lucky Sean is 21years old and at Humbolt State University. He has been playing the guitar for eight years and is in a couple of bands including heavy funk rockers Serious Lee .
