IT WAS 40 YEARS AGO TODAY (SEPT 2ND 1968) THAT ORANGE AMPS BEGAN TO PLAY

 

It was on Monday the 2nd of September 1968 that Orange CEO, Cliff Cooper, first opened the Orange shop in London’s West End and thus began the legend.

 

Back in those very early days, the so-called smart money strongly advised him not to take on the established musical equipment retailers and manufacturers. But this only served to bolster Cliff’s ambition.

So, over the months and years that followed he designed a truly revolutionary new range of guitar amplification that rightly proclaimed itself to be ‘The Voice Of The World’. Cliff also developed a completely fresh and contemporary approach to musical instruments retailing.

Forty years on,  tens of thousands of Orange owners and enthusiasts worldwide are very glad and grateful that he did so.
