Lostprophets are a Welsh rock band formed in 1997. They have produced several demos (none of which are still produced commercially), three studio albums and eleven singles. Their first album, Thefakesoundofprogress, was originally recorded in a week for 4,000 (GBP) and intended as a demo but the band re-recorded and re-released the album on a much wider scale through Columbia Records in the USA, although they remain with Visible Noise in the UK. They released Start Something in 2004, and Liberation Transmission in 2006.

In the January 5, 2008 edition of Kerrang!, Ian Watkins announced the following tracks for the fourth album: “It’s Not The End Of The World But I Can See It From Here”, “Credible vs. Incredible”, “Next Stop Atro City”, “The Mourning Reign”, “What Seems To Be The Problem Officer?”, “She’s With The Banned”, “Save Yourself”, “If It Wasn’t For Hate We’d Be Dead By Now” and “For He’s A Jolly Good Felon.” The album is set to be released around summer. Singer Ian Watkins notes in a new blog posting that the group has 14 songs recorded, but that there are more ideas still flowing and the band wants to fully explore those possibilities to see if they can add even better tracks to the final product. Watkins admits that means the album will likely not surface until summer.

On February 5, 2008 it was announced that the Lostprophets would be playing at the Download Festival with Radio 1 confirming them to be a headliner for Sunday 15th June. It was also announced that the band will be playing at the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park Festivals in Germany, the Festimad in Spain, the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan in August (both dates) and the Rock en Seine Festival in France. The new album is now slated for a late 2008/early 2009 release, and they have recently announced that they will be doing a short tour of the UK and Asia and will be appearing at the V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire in August.

On the latest Superstar to Superstar feature on WWE.com, Lostprophets told Jeff Hardy would be out early in 2009.

Singles album and fifth studio album (2010–present)

The band have announced plans to release a singles album in autumn, which will include two unheard tracks. They also plan to have a new studio album out by Autumn 2011.[44] At the weekend of the Reading Festival, Watkins participated in the Kerrang! Podcast: Reading Festival, telling the reporter that he hoped to have the singles album out by the end of 2010 or early 2011, and said that the fifth studio album should be released around the time of the 2011 Reading and Leeds Festivals. Currently, the band has rented a house in Norfolk, serving as their studio while composing a demo. British rapper/producer Labrinth confirmed in his blog on MTV that Lostprophets will feature on his new album due for release this autumn.[45] Jamie Oliver has stated on his twitter that Lostprophets will be releasing new music soon.
