For the second time in three years, Orange Music Electronic Company has been awarded the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade. The honour was approved by Her Majesty the Queen after the Prime Minister recommended that the company be put forward after more than doubling its export earnings over the past three years, and for selling nearly 80 per cent of its products to over fifty countries worldwide.

Commenting on the award, Chairman and founder of Orange Amplification, Cliff Cooper (pictured left) said:  “We are immensely proud of this achievement and honoured that the hard work of our talented and dedicated staff has been recognised by Her Majesty for a second time. For me this is breathtaking, coming just weeks after celebrating our 40th anniversary and after our sustained growth in overseas sales.”

Managing Director, Damon Waller (pictured right) commented: “To win this in 2009 is particularly encouraging to us and we hope to the rest of our industry.

It shows that even during these difficult times the music industry is standing out as one of the few industries weathering the storm, and in some instances even bucking the trend. We are looking forward to the rest of the year and have a strong programme of innovative product launches to continue our domestic and international sales growth.”
