Every artist starts somewhere. Play It Home is a global movement shining a light on the grassroots musicians, venues, and spaces at the heart of our global music ecosystem.
At Orange, we recognise and honour the importance of these beginnings and how they act as a life-source to the music industry, the arts, and our culture.
A Global Story
The campaign launched on June 5th, 2026, in Ipswich, Suffolk - Ed Sheeran’s hometown. An estimated two-thousand Ed Sheeran fans enjoyed a surprise appearance by Ed himself, busking a 6-track set alongside local musician and songwriter Lianne Kaye.
Next, the campaign will travel globally through a series of local sessions hosted alongside Orange Amps and their selected retail partners in cities and towns around the world including Guildford, Toronto, Paris, Sydney, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Bamberg. Each city activation will support local music initiatives through equipment donations, youth music programmes, rehearsal space support or other direct funding for community projects.
The first recipient of this support was a local schoolboy, Felix, who was delighted that Ed chose to give him his brand new amp from the performance at the end of the set. To then help Felix achieve his dream to become a musician, his next 12 months of guitar lessons are going to be fully funded by Orange – keep an eye on this page for more community stories!
